My flow is INTENSE

It felt like the month I turned 40 my period was like Niagara Falls for 2 days and then basically nothing for another 2 days. I'm 45 now and my period is still like clockwork but I bleed so much I go through 3 pairs of heavy flow period underwear a day - but still only for 2 days and then the spigot turns off. I've birthed 3 kids, so I imagine my uterus is just tired and wants to get the shedding over with.

My naturopath recommended I get checked for fibroids, but also mentioned they'd go away after menopause. I'm not currently on any HRT except for wild yam cream and maca root.

A lot of my same age friends are also experiencing the same intense flow when they bleed, so it seems like this is normal.
